What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care is a safe, drugless and natural method to restore the body to its full potential. The way your chiropractor does this is by activating your nervous system through the joints of your spine and extremities. Every organ, muscle and joint in your body is controlled by a specific nerve. When these nerves are irritated/compressed they affect the function of the organ, muscle and joint. This can present as sciatica, headaches or even brain fog and digestive issues.

Cavan Chiropractic was set up by Anne Marie Leddy in 2022 to help the local communities of Cavan and beyond to restore, heal and optimise their well being for everyday life. Whether you’re looking for pain relief or want your body to perform better, Chiropractic care can help you achieve your goals. I am an active member of the Chiropractic Association of Ireland.
I am a native of Rechills Co Cavan and I’ve always had an interest in natural health care. I graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2004 and have worked in Clinics all over the UK before relocating back to Cavan in 2019. I have 2 young sons which keep me busy, and I enjoy spending time with my family and going on as many adventures with them as possible. I am looking forward to introducing the power of chiropractic care to as many people as possible.
MANUAL MANIPULATION
Chiropractic care is given through manipulation of the spinal joints. Also known as a chiropractic adjustment, it involves small precise movements of the spinal and extremity joints to allow the nerve below or above the join to function properly.
ACTIVATOR
The same principal as manual manipulation, but instead of your chiropractor using their hands, a special device known as an activator is used to apply the chiropractic adjustment.
DRY NEEDLING
A form of acupuncture used to allow the soft tissue around the joints to function correctly to help aid chiropractic care.
SOFT TISSUE TECHNIQUES
Trigger point therapy (TPT) and cross friction massage helps with inflammation and dysfunction of the soft tissues. This will further aid chiropractic care in healing and restoring normal function of the joint and surrounding nerves.

You have questions. wE have answers.
No, chiropractic care doesn’t hurt. Your chiropractor will move your body in a certain way to ensure that chiropractic care is administered in a comfortable and non-painful way. For example, an adjustment might be administered to the patient when they are sitting rather than lying. Your chiropractor will ask if you are comfortable before starting any work on your body.
Yes, chiropractic care can help even when you have underlying conditions such as wear and tear and osteoporosis. Each person presenting to the clinic will be fully assessed and their care plan will be tailored to best suit their body type and needs.
No, unfortunately chiropractic care is not available through the HSE currently. If you have private health care you may be able to claim visits from your Health Care Insurance but please check your policy first.
